Iran has rejected a proposed temporary ceasefire, insisting instead on a permanent end to the conflict with the United States and Israel.
The response, delivered through mediation by Pakistan, outlined conditions including a full halt to hostilities, easing of sanctions, reconstruction efforts, and guaranteed safe passage through the Strait of Hormuz.
U.S. President Donald Trump dismissed the proposal, maintaining a firm deadline for an agreement and warning of severe consequences if Iran does not comply. He indicated that further military action could be taken within a short timeframe.
Iran, however, rejected both the deadline and pressure tactics, stating that negotiations cannot proceed under threats and emphasizing its position on a lasting resolution.
The ongoing conflict, which began in late February, has significantly disrupted global energy markets. The closure of the Strait of Hormuz , a key route for a large share of the world’s oil and gas supply has contributed to rising fuel prices and economic uncertainty.
Meanwhile, fighting continues across the region, with airstrikes and missile attacks reported on multiple fronts. Casualties have risen on all sides, and critical infrastructure, including energy facilities, has been damaged.
Efforts to reach a diplomatic solution remain ongoing, but major differences between the parties continue to hinder progress.
