Missile strikes from Iran caused loud explosions across Tel Aviv early Friday, raising fresh concerns over the intensifying conflict in the Middle East, Truth live news international reports.
Firefighters were deployed to a residential area close to the city’s commercial district after a building caught fire following the attack. Emergency teams worked to control the blaze while authorities assessed the damage.
The missile barrage followed Israel’s decision to widen its military operations against Hezbollah, the Iran-backed militant group that joined the confrontation after the reported killing of Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, during earlier strikes.
Iranian state television said the missiles were launched “against targets in the heart of Tel Aviv,” while the Israeli military confirmed it had activated its defence systems to intercept incoming rockets late Thursday night.
Correspondents from Agence France-Presse in Tel Aviv reported hearing two successive waves of explosions reverberate through the city during the incident.
At the same time, streaks of rockets were seen lighting up the skies over Netanya, a coastal city located north of Tel Aviv along the Mediterranean.
Israel’s national emergency service, Magen David Adom, later said medical teams visited several sites where projectiles were believed to have landed but confirmed that no casualties had been recorded.
Police authorities also stated that officers were responding to multiple scenes involving fallen projectiles in central parts of the country, adding that although buildings sustained damage, no injuries were reported.
In one incident, a projectile struck a structure on the outskirts of Tel Aviv, forcing residents to evacuate the area. Firefighters were also called to another residential site after debris from an intercepted rocket ignited a fire.
Meanwhile, Israel’s Home Front Command issued a series of rocket alerts early Friday to communities located near the Lebanon border, warning residents to remain vigilant as the situation continued to unfold.
