The remaining 23 passengers from the Abuja-Kaduna Railway Attack, who were kidnapped, have been released by the Nigerian army.
This was disclosed in a statement signed by the Secretary of the Chief of Defence Staff Action Committee, Usman Yusuf.
Yusuf revealed that the 23 hostages were released at 4pm on Wednesday October 5.
According to the statement, a seven-man presidential committee summed up by the Chief of Defense Staff, General Lucky Irabor secured the release of the victims.
Recall that a train carrying over hundred passengers, which was enroute Abuja from Kaduna, was gruesomely attacked by Boko Haram terrorists on March 28, 2022, during which some persons were killed, while others were kidnapped.
Many of the passengers have been released in batches ever since. These 23 hostages just released today, were the last of the remaining passengers who were taken into captivity.
