The leader of the APC in Edo State, Pastor Osage Ize-Iyamu was conspicuously absent as the National Chairman of the party, Abdullahi Ganduje, met with former National Chairman, Senator Adams Oshiomhole, to resolve the internal conflicts within the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Edo State.

Truth Live News gathered that the meeting centered on the recent dispute surrounding Oshiomhole’s anointed candidate, Dennis Idahosa, who lost the governorship primary in Edo State.

Following extensive deliberations, both leaders reached a consensus. It was decided that Dennis Idahosa, the incumbent Representative Member, would be appointed as the Deputy Governorship Candidate. This decision aims to foster unity within the party and capitalize on Idahosa’s experience and influence in the state.

Senator Monday Okpebholo emerged as the gubernatorial candidate for the APC in Edo State. The selection of Idahosa as his running mate signals a strategic move to consolidate support and present a formidable front in the forthcoming governorship election scheduled for September 21st, 2024.

Meanwhile, the main opposition leader to Senator Adams Oshiomhole’s dominance in Edo State APC, Pastor Osage Ize-Iyamu was conspicuously missing from the list of leaders who met with the national leadership of the party over the weekend to mediate over the crisis rocking the party owing to the outcome of the primary which produced Monday Okpebholo as its candidate in the Edo 2024 gubernatorial election

The resolution of the dispute underscores the commitment of the APC leadership to prioritize party cohesion and electoral success. With Oshiomhole’s pledge to throw his full support behind the party’s candidates, including Okpebholo and Idahosa, the APC aims to strengthen its position and compete vigorously in the upcoming electoral contest in Edo State.
