Some MRS Oil filling stations in Lagos and Abuja have begun dispensing Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), commonly known as petrol, at ₦739 per litre, a notable reduction from the recent pump prices of ₦850–₦900 per litre recorded across the city.
The latest adjustment is linked to a downward review of ex-depot prices by the Dangote Petroleum Refinery, which has reportedly commenced the supply of petrol to selected marketers at reduced rates. Industry sources say the move is part of ongoing efforts to stabilise fuel supply and ease price pressures in the downstream sector.
MRS Oil is among the first major marketers to reflect the revised pricing at the retail level, sparking expectations that other filling stations may soon follow suit if the lower ex-depot prices are sustained. Motorists in affected areas have welcomed the development, expressing cautious optimism that it could signal broader relief at the pumps in the coming days.
