The Kano State Police Command issued a public alert on Monday regarding potential violence instigated by certain political party supporters.

These groups plan to take to the street to protest the Appeal Court’s verdict on the governorship election in the state.

SP Abdullahi Kiyawa, the command’s Public Relations Officer, assured that security measures had been implemented to forestall any escalation leading to disorder.

Emphasizing adherence to the law, he urged individuals planning protests or processions to conduct them within legal boundaries.

Commissioner of Police, Usaini Gumel, urged residents to maintain calmness and refrain from participating in any illegal gatherings that might incite unrest. Joint security units have been strategically positioned across the state to ensure peace and order.

Kiyawa emphasized strict consequences for those disrupting peace, stating that law enforcement would apprehend and subject them to legal repercussions.

Residents were urged to promptly report any suspicious activities or individuals to security authorities for immediate action.
