Kidnappers Of Edo Line Bus Passengers Demand N15m Ransom Per Victim

Kidnappers of the 18-seater New Edo Line Transport Company bus’ passengers and that of a Toyota Camry have asked for N15 million ransom per a victim.

Recall that the passengers were kidnapped by gunmen along Owan-Auchi road on September 5.

It was learnt that the kidnappers contacted the family of one of the victims identified as Gloria Ikhaghu to put across their demand.

The said Gloria was returning to her base after the funeral ceremony of her late father in Okpekpe community, Etsako East Local Government Area of Edo State when she was abducted along with others.

A family source who do not want his name on print said that the kidnapper had reached out to them, demanding for N15 million ransom.

He said they don’t have such money but pleaded with the kidnappers to spear her, as they just buried their late father.

“We are begging Governor Monday Okpebholo and everyone, to assist in the safe return of Gloria, as we don’t have such money

Meanwhile, the Edo State Police command Public Relations Officer, CSP Moses Yamu, said he was not aware of the ransom demand.

He said operatives are still combing the bush to ensure the release of the victim unhurt.
