Akin Osuntokun, former DG of the Obi-Datti Presidential Campaign Council, has said that the Labour Party is heading towards extinction.
He noted that the powers that be have succeeded in using some individuals to destabilize the Labour Party.
Osuntokun furthered that Peter Obi was a product of the Obidient movement and not the Labour Party, and that had the Nigerian constitution allowed for independent candidacy, Obi would not have engaged with the party.
He said: “We know a party as such is heading towards extinction. But it’s not peculiar or unexpected. Many parties exist only on paper; the Labour Party was one of them before Peter Obi breathed life into it.”
Osuntokun also stated that the Labour Party has a nuisance value and can be used by other parties to destabilize them.
Truth Live News recalls that Peter Obi recently declared that he is still a member of the Labour Party but would work with the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in the 2027 elections.
