Lagos Plane Crash: NSIB Begins Investigation, Requests Information From Public

The Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau (NSIB) has announced that it has begun an investigation into an accident involving a Jabiru J430, a light single airplane with the nationality and registration Marks 5N-CCQ.

The airplane was operated by Air First Hospitality & Tours and was on a test flight with two passengers when it crashed around the Oba Akran area of Lagos State.

There were no fatalities in the crash, which occurred around 3pm on Tuesday.

According to report, the aircraft caught fire on impact but the rain at the time of the crash helped to contain the fire. The two passangers on board were taken to the hospital for treatment.

In a statement released by the Bureau’s Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, Tunji Oketunbi, the NSIB requested for information from the public, including photos, videos, and recordings, that could assist with their investigation into the crash.
