The Lagos State Police Command has summoned Pastor Chris Okafor, Senior Pastor of Mountain of Liberation and Miracles Ministries, following multiple allegations of rape and other sexual offences.

In a statement issued late Sunday, the police confirmed that Pastor Okafor is expected to report to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Panti at 10:00 a.m. on Monday to answer questions relating to the allegations.

Commissioner of Police Olohundare Jimoh has ordered a full investigation into the claims, emphasizing that the probe will be conducted professionally and impartially. The pastor was formally served with the invitation through his legal representatives.

“The Lagos State Police Command is committed to upholding the law without fear or favour. No one, regardless of status, is above the law,” the statement read. Police also assured that the identities of victims and witnesses will be protected.

The controversy erupted in December 2025, when Nollywood actress Doris Ogala posted a series of emotional videos on social media accusing Pastor Okafor of a nine‑year sexual relationship that began in 2017. Ogala claimed that the pastor broke promises of marriage, shared explicit materials without consent, and played a role in the breakdown of her previous marriage.

Okafor’s December 16, 2025 wedding to a woman identified as Pearl attended by prominent pastors ignited further public debate due to the timing of the allegations.

Recall that amid the escalating public scrutiny, Pastor Okafor announced he would step aside from active ministry at the start of the year. In a New Year’s service, he described the hiatus as a spiritual retreat and time for rest with his wife, framing it as a period of renewal rather than an admission of guilt.

Beyond Ogala’s claims, other women including Okafor’s former wife have come forward with separate accusations of infidelity, manipulation, and abuse, according to multiple media reports. Some allege harm extending over many years, though these claims remain untested in court.

The police have urged anyone with credible information or who may have been affected by the alleged acts to come forward to SCID or the Police Public Relations Department.
