A UK-based Nigerian political analyst and Publisher of Truth Live News, Deacon Darlington Okpebholo Ray, has declared that the 2027 General Election will fundamentally redefine Nigeria’s political and economic architecture, urging citizens to prepare for what he described as a historic turning point.
Speaking as a guest political analyst on Arise TV, Okpebholo Ray said Nigeria must depart from what he termed “the old structure and old programme” that have shaped governance since 2015.
According to him, Nigerians are yearning not for a “renewed hope” but an entirely “new hope” capable of redirecting the nation’s trajectory.
“Nigeria needs a departure from the old structure, old programme that the country has been on since 2015. And we are looking forward to a new hope, not a renewed hope — a new hope that will come in 2027 and redefine the state of Nigeria,” he stated.
The analyst expressed deep concern over what he described as persistent governance failures across critical sectors. He lamented the absence of clear and sustainable solutions to insecurity, particularly daily killings and the growing menace of kidnapping, which he said has become normalized in parts of the country.
“We have no solution to the killings that occur daily in Nigeria. We have no solution to the kidnapping that has become a norm. We have no solution to the power and energy crisis. We have no solution to the roads problem in Nigeria,” he said.
Okpebholo warned that these challenges are becoming “epidemic,” creating a dangerous perception that they are unsolvable. He further criticized what he described as the misallocation of national resources, alleging that substantial public funds are being directed toward areas with little or no direct impact on the ordinary Nigerian.
He argued that 2027 presents an opportunity for a structural reset, one that prioritizes security, infrastructure, energy reform, and people-centered economic policies.
“We as a country are looking for a new hope — a new hope that will redirect the trajectory, the political structure and the economic structure of Nigeria,” he emphasized.
