The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has warned its members against using the party platforms to insult leaders, just as it sues for unity among them as the party gears up for the 2027 general election.
National Vice Chairman, South East of the party, Bon Unachukwu cautioned the members in a statement he made available to journalists in Owerri.
He said that although the party acknowledged robust debate and political participation but cautioned against actions that could create division or distract them from the collective mission.
The party stressed that supporting a particular individual for the party’s flag is legitimate, but such preferences he said should not fuel internal discord. “The party’s objective is to win the general election and offer Nigerians a credible alternative founded on good governance, inclusiveness, and accountability.
The warning has also comes amid tensions within the party, with some members expressing concerns over the party’s direction and leadership.
Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has also urged ADC supporters to stop attacking Peter Obi, saying such attacks undermine opposition unity and benefit the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) .
