Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, has gifted new Sports Utility Vehicles (SUV) to three staff members of the Government House and Protocol in recognition of their commitments and hard work.
The presentation, which took place on Thursday at the Government House, Benin City, was targeted at motivating workers who have shown exceptional commitment to their duties.
While handing over the vehicles, Governor Okpebholo commended the staff for their discipline and punctuality to duty, noting that their consistent habit of resuming early and closing late did not go unnoticed.
According to him, “Today, I allowed this to happen late because I wanted to know whether you would close early so that you will miss your luck,”
“God kept you, and it has been your habit that you come early and close late. One day I saw you trekking and walking very fast to get to the office before time, so I took note of that. I watch carefully. You deserve this, and I want you to continue in this manner. We are here to serve Edo people.”
Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, Mary Salami expressed gratitude to the governor, describing the gesture as overwhelming.
She said “I’m so excited and short of words. I really don’t know what to say. I am very grateful to Mr. Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo. I pray that God Almighty will bless and prosper him and give him the grace to make the right decisions at all times.”
The beneficiaries include Mary Salami of the Protocol Department, Sylvanus, also in Protocol, and Mike Oshioshio from the ICT unit, all under the Government House Directorate.
