Celebrity chef and Guinness World Record holder, Hilda Baci, has unveiled plans for another ambitious culinary feat — cooking the world’s largest pot of jollof rice. The Nigerian chef disclosed that the attempt will require 250 bags of basmati rice, weighing over 5,200 kilograms.
According to Hilda, her initial calculation showed that 264 bags would be needed, but she made what she described as an “executive decision” to scale down slightly to 250 bags while still maintaining the record-breaking standards. The challenge will be supported with a specially constructed 22,619 litre pot, custom-built for the task.

The record attempt is slated for September 12, 2025, at Muri Okunola Park, Victoria Island, Lagos. Food lovers and supporters are expected to gather as Hilda makes another bold entry into the Guinness World Records with her largest jollof pot attempt.
