Makinde Swears-in 17 New Permanent Secretaries in Oyo, Urges Merit-Driven Service

The Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde on Tuesday swore in 17 newly appointed permanent secretaries, emphasizing the importance of merit, transparency, and dedication in public service.

The ceremony, announced via the governor’s official X handle, marks a significant step in bolstering the state’s administrative framework.

Makinde described the appointments as “a call to higher service based on merit,” highlighting his administration’s commitment to a selection process that is both transparent and representative.

In his address, the governor urged the new officials to perform their duties with utmost diligence, cautioning them against letting personal interests overshadow their responsibilities.

“His administration has established a structure to ensure a transparent and merit-based selection process that is representative,” the statement noted.
