SHOCKING: United States Congress Moves to Blacklist Rabiu Kwankwaso, Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria over Mass Killings of Christians

A draft legislative move currently under consideration at the United States Congress is proposing visa restrictions and targeted asset freezes against individuals and groups accused of being linked to, or complicit in, the continuing wave of attacks against Christian communities in parts of Nigeria.

According to information monitored early Wednesday by Truth Live News International correspondents, the proposed measure identifies, among others, former Kano State governor and national political figure Rabiu Kwankwaso, as well as members and affiliated structures of Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria and Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore, alongside other Fulani linked groups.

The bill, which reportedly lists named individuals and organisations for review by the United States Department of State, is aimed at applying international pressure on the Nigerian authorities over what U.S. lawmakers describe as persistent failures to halt the killings of Christians, mass abductions, and violent attacks on rural communities, particularly across parts of the North Central and North West regions of the country.

Although the proposal remains subject to legislative processes in Washington, sources familiar with the draft say the intention is to impose travel bans and financial restrictions on any individuals found to be directly involved in, or to have materially supported, violent networks responsible for attacks on Christian populations and other vulnerable groups.

For years, local communities, church leaders and international rights organisations have raised alarms over what they describe as a growing pattern of targeted violence, including the burning of villages, coordinated assaults on worshippers, and the systematic kidnapping of women and young girls for ransom and abuse. Many of these attacks have been attributed by survivors to armed groups operating under Fulani militia identities, often in areas where security responses remain slow or completely absent.

Truth Live News and its frontline advocacy

Truth Live News International has remained at the forefront of advocacy against religiously motivated killings, kidnappings and gender based violence in Nigeria. Through sustained investigative reporting, survivor centred interviews and field based documentation, this platform has repeatedly exposed how Christian communities, women and their daughters continue to face brutal attacks, displacement and long term trauma.

From detailed reports on church invasions and night raids on farming settlements, to exclusive testimonies of women who escaped captivity, Truth Live News has consistently amplified the voices of victims who are otherwise ignored by mainstream narratives. Our newsroom has also published multiple investigative features linking the cycles of violence to weak security coordination, political silence, and the failure of successive governments to bring perpetrators to justice.

In several editorials and special investigations, Truth Live News has challenged what it describes as the dangerous normalisation of violence by extremist and criminal elements operating under religious and ethnic cover. The organisation has further highlighted how repeated attacks have destroyed livelihoods, displaced thousands of Christian families, and left entire communities without access to schools, healthcare or safe places of worship.

Beyond reporting, Truth Live News has actively engaged international partners, diaspora advocacy groups and foreign missions to draw attention to Nigeria’s deteriorating religious freedom environment. Our advocacy campaigns have consistently called for targeted international accountability measures, including visa bans and financial sanctions against individuals and organisations credibly linked to mass atrocities.

As global attention increasingly turns to the crisis, Truth Live News reiterates its long standing demand that all those responsible for promoting, enabling or shielding the massacre of innocent Christians, the kidnapping of women and children, and the sexual abuse of vulnerable girls must be identified, investigated and held accountable, both under Nigerian law and through international mechanisms.

The proposed U.S. legislative action, if advanced, would mark one of the strongest international responses yet to the escalating humanitarian and religious freedom crisis facing millions of Nigerians.
