Tinubu Meets UK Prime Minister Starmer in London

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu was formally received by the United Kingdom’s Prime Minister, Keir Starmer, during an official visit to London.

The high-profile meeting, held at Downing Street, showed a renewed commitment by both nations to deepen cooperation across critical sectors including trade, security, climate change, and migration.

President Tinubu’s visit marks one of the most consequential diplomatic interactions between Nigeria and the UK in recent times, reflecting a shared determination to reposition the longstanding partnership for mutual economic and strategic benefits.

Speaking during the reception, Prime Minister Starmer lauded Nigeria’s pivotal role in Africa, describing the country as a “key partner in driving regional stability and economic growth.” He reaffirmed the UK’s readiness to work closely with the Tinubu administration in addressing global challenges while unlocking new opportunities for investment and development.

President Tinubu, in his remarks, emphasized Nigeria’s openness to foreign investment and its commitment to economic reforms aimed at improving the business environment.
