Lagos lawyer cum human rights activist, Femi Falana, has called on Nigerians to go back to the era where those found to have been corrupted cannot take part in the decision making process of the country.
Falana made the call at Afe Babalola University, Ado-Ekiti on Monday, at the celebration of 60 years of Aare Babalola at the bar.
According to him “Let’s the President lead an anti-corruption crusade. Right now, we are in trouble as a country.
“Let’s go back to the era where people who have being involved in corruption and looting cannot take part in the decision-making process of the country”
He lamented that the frequent movement of some persons to the Villa in the name of visiting the presidency is alarming just as he called on President Tinubu to lead by example and desist from receiving corrupt politicians to the presidential villa.
Falana said that a situation where those been investigated for various corruption allegations trooping to pay one form of visit or the other to the president, amount to glorifying corruption.
The human rights activist cum lawyer also urged citizens of the country to realise and take advantage of their rights: “When a person is killed one can sue the government to punish the offender or to pay a fee as compensation.”
