Rebecca, a Nigerian woman, posted on Twitter that her aunt who divorced her husband gave her some marital advise.
She claimed the woman shared some crucial information with her which she should consider before getting married after she divorced her husband of ten years.
A woman must first get her own money before settling down, according to Rebecca’s aunt.
The second recommendation was for her to make sure the family she is marrying into likes her.
The lady wrote; “My Aunty divorced after 10 years and she had two advices for me
She said;
1) Kiki please don’t marry without your own money.
2) Make sure his family likes you
I can never forget this and I always look out for this.
Once you’re more successful than their son na there wahala de really start. And you’ll be wondering is it not this people that was forming love for me? The shock is crazy in that moment.
You have men who report physically to their people practically every week. Them asking what the wife feeds him with, cloths , run errands for them (his parents are not old or bedridden), even to the extent of how and when he colabo wt his wife etc. And yet, he has a stable Job.”
