May Day: Akpabio Promises Fair Treatment, Improved Conditions for Nigerian Workers

As Workers celebrate this year’s May Day, the President of the Nigerian Senate, Godswill Akpabio, has pledged to collaborate with the Executive to ensure Nigerian workers receive fair wages and improved working conditions.

In a statement released by Mr. Eseme Eyiboh, the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the Senate President on Wednesday, Akpabio praised the admirable qualities of Nigerian workers, including patriotism, hard work, resilience, and dedication.

Akpabio emphasized the National Assembly’s commitment to providing better working conditions, stating that no Nigerian worker would endure inhumane conditions under his leadership.

He affirmed that the theme of “Ensuring safety and health at work in a changing climate” aligns with international standards, and Nigeria will not lag behind.

Akpabio assured that the 10th National Assembly is dedicated to enacting laws to safeguard the interests of Nigerian workers, ensuring suitable working environments and adequate compensation.

“On behalf of the Senate and the entire National Assembly and indeed, my family, I wish to join the world in wishing the Nigerian worker a happy International Labour Day” he said.

” We are celebrating patriotism, hardwork, commitment and dedication exhibited by the Nigerian workers.

” I want to assure you that your sacrifices would never be in vain,the tough times will not last forever, in fact, the challenges would soon be over,” Akpabio said.
