Amidst the tragic accidental killing of 85 civilians in Tudun Biri, Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State, General Christopher Musa, the Chief of Defence Staff, has pledged stern action against any personnel found responsible.

Speaking in Abuja on Friday, General Musa assured the public that severe consequences awaited those implicated in the unfortunate incident following an independent investigation initiated by President Bola Tinubu.

In his first media interaction since assuming office, General Musa expressed deep regret over the incident, emphasizing that the military’s primary duty is to safeguard civilians, not cause harm or destruction.

“While pursuing bandits in that area, this regrettable incident occurred. Our mandate is to protect civilians, and what transpired in Kaduna is contrary to our mission,” stated General Musa, underscoring the Armed Forces of Nigeria’s commitment to serving the nation.

General Musa reassured Nigerians of the military’s accountability, affirming, “The Military, as a disciplined organization, will not shield any officer found responsible in this incident.” He urged patience from the public, urging them to await the investigation’s findings to gain a comprehensive understanding of the events leading to the tragedy.
