Breaking: Governor Dauda Lawal Dumps PDP for APC

The Executive Governor of Zamfara state, Dauda Lawal Dare, has officially defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

The announcement was made on Monday by the Deputy Governor of Zamfara State, Mani Malam Mummuni, who disclosed that both he and Governor Lawal had concluded arrangements to leave the PDP and join the APC.

Speaking on behalf of the governor, Mummuni stated that the decision followed extensive consultations with political stakeholders, supporters, and key leaders across the state. According to him, the move was driven by the need to align Zamfara with the federal government in order to accelerate development and strengthen security efforts in the state.

“The governor and I have carefully considered the political realities and the interests of the people of Zamfara State. After wide consultations, we have resolved to join the All Progressives Congress to better position our state for progress and development,” the deputy governor said.
