Broda Shaggi Hospitalised After Gunshot Wound

Popular Nigerian comedian and content creator Samuel Perry, better known as Broda Shaggi, is currently receiving medical treatment after sustaining a gunshot injury to his thigh while filming a comedy skit in Ogun State on Sunday March 9, 2026.

The incident occurred under the Sango-Ota bridge on Sunday afternoon. A police source who spoke on condition of anonymity said the content creator sustained the gunshot injury while filming a comedy skit at the location. Crew members who were present at the scene immediately rushed him to Blooming Care Hospital in the Alakuko area of Lagos State where he received initial treatment.
“He was shooting a skit under the Sango-Ota bridge when he sustained a gunshot injury. We don’t have details on how it happened yet, but his crew members who were present quickly rushed him to the hospital,” the source said. “He was seen on a stretcher with an injury to his thigh,” the source added.

The hospital contacted the police to report that a gunshot victim had been brought to their facility, prompting the immediate mobilisation of detectives and a patrol team. Officers who arrived at the hospital confirmed the victim was the well-known skit maker.

The exact circumstances surrounding the shooting remain unclear at the time of this report. The location of the incident falls under Sango-Ota in Ogun State, but the Ogun State Police Command spokesperson Oluseyi Babaseyi said the incident had not been reported to his command.

According to Punch Newspapers, he was later referred to Duchess Hospital in the Government Residential Area, Ikeja, where he is currently receiving treatment.

Broda Shaggi’s manager Olufemi Oguntamu, also known as Penzaar, had not responded to calls or text messages at the time of filing this report.

Broda Shaggi, born September 18, 1993, is one of Nigeria’s most celebrated comedians and content creators.
His current condition and whether he has since been transferred to another facility have not been officially confirmed. This is a developing story and will be updated as more information becomes available.
