Cleric Agbala Gabriel Faces Fraud, Sexual Misconduct Allegations

An Ibadan-based cleric, Kayode Amusan, widely known as Agbala Gabriel, has come under intense public scrutiny following allegations of sexual misconduct and claims that donations raised for medical assistance were mishandled.

Truth live News International gathered that the Oyo State-based pastor had built a strong online reputation over the years as a compassionate religious leader whose ministry frequently mobilised support for sick and vulnerable individuals. Through videos circulated on social media platforms, the cleric was often seen praying for struggling families and appealing for financial contributions on their behalf, earning admiration from many Nigerians who believed his ministry was committed to charity.

However, the cleric’s image has recently been overshadowed by a series of allegations that have sparked heated debate across social media platforms including Facebook, TikTok and Instagram.

One of the controversies reportedly centres on the case of a woman identified as Morenikeji, who was said to be suffering from a spinal condition that required surgery. Her medical situation had previously attracted public donations.

In a video that later went viral, Nollywood actress Foluke Daramola recounted her involvement in raising funds for the woman’s treatment.

She said, “I initially raised money for the woman’s surgery, which wasn’t enough. But as soon as the family took her to Agbala Gabriel’s care, I withdrew.

“Later, I got to know that Gabriel abandoned them and failed to provide the support of a good accommodation and surgery he promised.”

The woman’s daughter also claimed in the same video that she eventually removed her mother from the pastor’s care due to concerns about how the situation was being managed.

While that controversy continued to gain attention online, another allegation surfaced involving claims about the cleric’s relationship with a woman identified as Bolu, said to be a former backup singer in his church.

During a live broadcast, a blogger known as Iyalaje Courtroom alleged that the cleric was involved in mismanagement of donations and inappropriate relationships with women in his church.

According to the blogger, Bolu became pregnant for the pastor and later gave birth to twins.

She stated, “She was about 23 when the relationship started and she is now 25.

“Agbala Gabriel initially denied the pregnancy, but after pressure, he later accepted responsibility and rented a house for the lady and the twins.”

The claim was also supported by charity advocate Princess Adeyinka, who said she personally intervened when the issue first surfaced.

She said, “Agbala Gabriel impregnated Bolu and refused to take full responsibility initially. I went to him myself to beg him to take responsibility when I first heard about it, which he denied initially but later took responsibility.”

As the allegations spread widely online, public reactions remained divided. While some supporters defended the cleric’s years of charitable activities, others called for greater transparency regarding the accusations.

Responding to the claims, Agbala Gabriel denied any wrongdoing, insisting that the allegations were part of attempts to tarnish the reputation of prominent religious leaders.

He said, “This is how they try to bring ministers of God down. All ministers who became famous faced this kind of lies. We see men of God like Pastor Adeboye, and other famous pastors being dragged on social media every day. This is just how they do on social media, making false allegations.”
