Davido Breaks Silence on DNA Test Allegations, Threatens Legal Action

Popular Nigerian music star David Adeleke, widely known as Davido, has addressed circulating allegations linking him to a paternity claim by a 13year old girl, Anu, stating that multiple DNA tests conducted at different hospitals all returned negative results.

Recall that years ago, a lady, Ayorinde Labinjo, accused Davido of having sexual intercourse with her on a particular night, which resulted to a pregnancy she kept and gave birth to Anu in 2013. Ever since, Ayo has taken to social media to request for a DNA test to confirm the paternity of her daughter, since her claim that Davido is responsible has been tagged as false.

In a series of posts on X (formerly Twitter) on Tuesday, the award-winning singer said he agreed to extensive testing to put the matter to rest. According to him, he selected three hospitals while the other party chose two, bringing the total to five hospitals involved in the DNA tests. “Yes I chose 3 hospitals and they chose their own two hospitals… all came out negative,” Davido wrote, adding that he would no longer speak on the issue.

The singer expressed anger over what he described as deliberate falsehood and harassment, warning that legal action may soon follow. In another post, Davido claimed he never had a relationship with the woman involved, stating that he only encountered her during the DNA testing process. He further alleged misconduct on the part of the child’s mother, saying, “5 f***ing hospitals just to be clear… the mom needs to go to jail… I don’t blame the poor girl.”

Reacting to the controversy, social media users have continued to debate the issue, with some questioning the unusual number of DNA tests conducted. Despite the backlash and online scrutiny, Davido insisted the matter was closed, cautioning critics against further provocation. “When we strike make nobody beg us,” he wrote, suggesting imminent legal consequences.
