Former Senator representing Kaduna Central Senatorial district, Shehu Sani has queued behind the comments made by the First Lady, Mrs. Remi Tinubu’s on the United States of America airstrikes on ISIS terrorists in Sokoto State.
Recall that at the direction of the President of the United States and the Secretary of War, and in coordination with Nigerian authorities, U.S. Africa Command conducted airstrikes against ISIS terrorists in Nigeria on Dec. 25, 2025, in Sokoto State.
He called her stance as reasonable given the region’s level of danger.
The former Senator, questioned the accusations levelled at Mrs Tinubu, saying the US-led air operation in December 2025 was a great move in the war against terrorism.
On Tuesday, the politician reacted via his X handle, calling for further aerial operations, notably by Nigeria’s Air Force, against armed groups operating in the North.
“The December air strikes against bandits and terrorists in the North was a welcome development.
“More strikes by our Air Force are needed against those mass murderers, rapists and kidnappers,” Sani wrote.
Sani also defended the First Lady’s comments, insisting her remarks reflected the harsh realities facing communities affected by terrorism.
“What Senator Remi said is right. I don’t know why some people are attacking her in view of the heinous atrocities of those terrorists,” Sani said.
