JUST IN: Terrorists Storm Kebbi Girls’ School, Abduct Dozens, Kill Vice Principal

Armed terrorists on motorcycles invaded Government Girls’ Comprehensive Secondary School in Maga, Danko/Wasagu Local Government Area, early Monday morning, killing the Vice Principal and abducting scores of female students in a brazen dawn attack.

Eyewitnesses said the gunmen stormed the school around 6:00 a.m., shooting sporadically and overpowering the lone security guard who was also injured.

Vice Principal Malam Hassan Yakubu Makuku was shot dead while reportedly trying to shield the girls.

“We are all waiting to see what God can do,” a distraught resident told reporters as parents and villagers gathered outside the school.

Local sources said the attackers, believed to be operating from forests in neighbouring Niger State, herded an unspecified number of students away on motorcycles. Although unverified social media posts claimed “hundreds” were taken, security sources described the figure as “scores” while a headcount continues.

Kebbi State Police Command and military authorities have yet to issue an official statement, but residents appealed for urgent rescue operations, warning that the terrorists “haven’t gone far” and remain in nearby forests.

The attack marks a chilling resurgence of school abductions in the North-west, four years after bandits kidnapped over 80 students from Federal Government College, Birnin Yauri, in the same state—many of whom remain in captivity.

As panic grips Maga community, parents and rights groups renewed calls for decisive federal action to end the cycle of school raids that has displaced thousands of children across northern Nigeria.
