The general overseer and founder of God’s Greater Grace General Assembly (GGGGA) Intl Incorporated, Benin, Rev Sunny Akenbor has challenged christian faithful to look inward to discover their talents and fulfill their destiny on earth as God has not created anyone without endowing him with potentials to succeed.
He said this while speaking on the topic: “Discover it, do it” during the Sunday church service in Benin City.
Rev. Akenbor said God is not unjust and wicked to have created man without depositing into him the potentials to thrive, conquer and subdue the earth but the problem with man is that, he has not been able to discover himself
Akenbor added that the book of Matthew 25:14-30 is explicit when it talks about talents.
He said the portion of the bible in the book of Matthew explained that they were given according to their abilities, stressing that those who discovered theirs, traded with them and made profits while the other remain indifference and redundant.
Reading from the book of Proverbs 22:29 which was the focus of the sermon, he said two things will make one stand with his head high and outstanding. They are the gift and diligence.
“Seest thou a man diligent in his business? he shall stand before kings; he shall not stand before mean men”, Proverbs 22:29.
The clergyman stressed further that if one will go further in life, it depends on how well one utilizes his God’s given talents/gifts, citing how Nigerian gospel artistes who grew up from their local churches are making waves, making the country proud and earning a good fortune for themselves.
He noted that Joseph, Gideon and Jephthah were some of the biblical examples who discovered and harnessed their potentials.
He said Joseph having spent 13 years in prison, through his talent, he was able to stand before Pharaoh, became a Prime Minister, brought his people to live in Goshen in Egypt with him, saving them from hunger and starvation.
The man of God further admonished christian faithful to look inward to discover themselves and stop walking in other people’s shadows adding that, if they are not called into what they are doing, they can never find joy and fulfilment in them amounting to a waste of time and energy.
The general overseer and founder of the church however led the congregation on prayers and also prayed for the peace and stability of the country, Nigeria.
