The National Youth Service Corps has issued a warning to prospective corps members ahead of the upcoming orientation camp, urging them to ensure that their names match across all official documents.
The agency said any discrepancy between the name on a candidate’s certificate or statement of result and the one uploaded on the NYSC portal must be corrected before reporting to camp.
In a notice shared on its official platform, NYSC stressed that even minor differences including spelling errors, arrangement of names, missing middle names, or additional initials will not be accepted during registration.
“Prospective Corps Members whose names on their certificates or statements of results do not exactly match the names uploaded on the NYSC portal should contact their institutions to ensure consistency before reporting to camp,” the statement read.
The scheme noted that such discrepancies have repeatedly caused issues for participants during camp registration in previous batches.
NYSC advised all affected candidates to resolve any name-related issues with their institutions early to avoid disqualification or delays in mobilisation.
