Otti Congratulates Ikpeazu on Appointment as Nigeria’s Envoy to Spain

The Governor of Abia State, Alex Otti, has extended congratulations to former governor Okezie Ikpeazu following his appointment as Nigeria’s Ambassador to Spain.

Ikpeazu, who previously led Abia State before the current administration, was recently named among Nigeria’s diplomatic representatives abroad by President Bola Tinubu.

In a statement issued on Monday and signed by Otti’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ferdinand Ekeoma, the governor described the appointment as an important opportunity for the former governor to represent Nigeria’s interests on the international stage.

According to the statement, Otti said the new diplomatic role would enable Ikpeazu to contribute to national service while strengthening relations between Nigeria and Spain.

He stated that the appointment presents “an opportunity for Ikpeazu to serve the country at the diplomatic level while protecting the interests of Nigerians in Spain.”

The governor also used the occasion to appreciate President Tinubu for selecting the former Abia governor for the diplomatic position.

Otti further urged the Federal Government to provide the newly appointed ambassador and other diplomats with the support needed to succeed in their assignments abroad.

“We urge the Federal Government to provide Ikpeazu and other newly appointed ambassadors with the necessary support to enable them to succeed in their diplomatic assignments,” the statement added.

He concluded by wishing the former governor a successful and impactful tenure in his new role representing Nigeria overseas.

The report was released through the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).
