NIGERIA, CALABAR – Cross River State Governor, Senator (Prince) Bassey Edet Otu, has approved the appointment of Surveyor Efiom Edem Ekpenyong as Secretary of the State Land Use and Allocation Committee (LUAC).
The appointment, announced in a press release signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Linus Obogo, follows the retirement of Mr. Obase Ekaba.
According to the release, the move aligns with the Governor’s ongoing reforms to ensure transparency and due process in land administration across the state.
Otu directed that no backdated Letters of Offer or Allocation be processed, stressing that all new allocations must show evidence of statutory payment except where waivers are granted.
The Governor also ordered the revocation of all allocations issued without proper documentation, describing the action as a demonstration of his administration’s commitment to accountability.

Obogo emphasized that the decision reflects the Governor’s resolve to uphold the prudent management of public assets under the People First agenda.
The statement, released from the Governor’s Office, Calabar, reiterated that the administration will sustain reforms to guarantee transparency, fairness, and responsible land governance in Cross River State.
