Many Nigerians are currently irate by president Muhammadu Buhari’s act of revealing the candidate he voted for on his ballot paper, which is against the electoral law.
In a video seen by Truth Live News, Buhari, after casting his vote, waved his ballot paper round his polling unit, for others to see and this has angered many Nigerians who see the act as campaigning.
Recall that campaigns have officially closed and it is unlawful for voters to indulge in any campaign of any sort.
The president has breached section 96 (1) of the Electoral Act by campaigning indirectly after the ban of campaign. The consequences of his actions are to void his vote and also to serve a six months jail term.
