Toba Owojaiye reporting

The Nigerian Nurses Association has made it clear that the person who administered an anti-tetanus injection to Mohbad is not a member of their organization.

This revelation comes as the Lagos State Police Command apprehended the individual responsible for treating the late rapper, Ilerioluwa Olademeji Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, before his unfortunate demise.

James Aloba, Mohbad’s father, voiced suspicions about the auxiliary nurse who administered the injection, believing it may have contributed to his son’s deteriorating health.

In this trying time, the National Association of Nigeria Nurses and Midwives (NANNM), Lagos State Council, extends its heartfelt condolences to Mohbad’s family and associates. They express deep sorrow over his tragic passing and stand in solidarity with those affected.

The NANNM fully supports the ongoing investigation into the circumstances surrounding Mohbad’s death and urges authorities to leave no stone unturned in the pursuit of justice. They emphasize the importance of professionalism in reporting and conducting this investigation.

The NANNM is closely monitoring the situation and conducting preliminary investigations, revealing that the individual taken into police custody for providing care to Mohbad is not a registered nurse.

This highlights the pressing need to verify the qualifications and professional status of individuals before labeling them as healthcare professionals.

It is regrettable that Nigeria’s healthcare system grapples with significant regulatory challenges, allowing unqualified individuals to undertake medical roles they are not qualified for, posing serious risks to public health and safety. Addressing these issues is crucial for the well-being of all Nigerians.
