Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, extended warm felicitations to the Muslim community in Edo State on the occasion of Eid-el-Kabir.
In a heartfelt statement shared on his verified social media platforms, Governor Obaseki conveyed his best wishes and reflections on the significance of the festival.
“I felicitate with our Muslim brothers and sisters as we mark the Eid-el-Kabir festivities,” Obaseki wrote. “On the occasion of this celebration, I urge everyone to reflect on the peculiar state of our nation and espouse virtues that would promote peace, unity, good neighbourliness, and sacrifice.”
Highlighting the importance of spiritual growth, he added, “We should all strive to have a deeper relationship with God as we reflect on the lessons of the season.”
Governor Obaseki also emphasized the current challenges facing the nation, urging for collective efforts to overcome them. “Our nation is in dire straits. This period demands that we work together and do away with all ethno-religious strife for our collective progress.”
In closing, Obaseki reassured the community of their safety during the celebrations, stating, “We are working closely with security authorities to ensure our Muslim faithful have a peaceful celebration.”
