Obaseki Gears To End Insecurity, Presents Vehicles, Motorcycles To Security Agencies

Matching words with actions and ending the spate of insecurity in Edo State, the state governor, Mr Godwin Obaseki has presented vehicles and motorcycles to the security agencies to combat insecurity in the state.

With the provision of the logistics to the security agencies, the citizens of the state are sure to go to sleep with their two eyes closed.

The Edo State Police Commissioner, Funsho Adegboye, who could not hide his feelings, commended Governor Godwin Obaseki’s commitment to tackling insecurity in the state and supporting security agencies to maintain peace, law and order in the State.

The Police Commissioner said the Sienna buses and motorcycles presented to the security agencies for joint operations against crime and criminality in the State, will go a long way of nipping crimes in the buds.

Adegboye who received the security vehicles on behalf of other sister agencies, at the Government House, in Benin City, said the gesture has further strengthened the State’s security architecture to ensure security and protect the lives and property of citizens.

According to him, “We are grateful to the Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki for this gesture and we are never tired to continue to ask for more as he is ready to make the State safe for all of us.

“Here are the vehicles which we can see. It will assist us in the joint operations that the Security Council has agreed to. We equally have bikes too which we will use to move around the State to help us checkmate criminal activities and insecurity.

“The bikes will help reach places where vehicles cannot go, serving as a source of information and providing information to patrol commanders across the State. The vehicles will be stationed at strategic positions for better actions.”

The Police Commissioner added, “We thank His Excellency for his stance on ensuring security in the State.”
