Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki, has purged his cabinets, sacked over 200 aides from the state executive council, including the commissioners.
A statement by Crusoe Osagie Special Adviser, Media Projects to the State Governor, said the sacking of the aides takes immediate effect.
According to Crusoe, the decision for the dissolution of the executive council and aides was taken during the weekly Executive Council meeting on Wednesday.
“The governor said that, beginning from today, all Special Assistants (SAs) and Senior Special Assistants (SSAs) have been relieved of their appointments.”
The sack also affected all Special Assistants (SAs) and Senior Special Assistants (SSAs).
“The governor however expressed appreciation to members of the council for their service to the government and people of the State.”
Truth Live News reports that the aides were appointed in 2021 by governor Obaseki.
