Ohaneze Ndigbo has dessociated itself from alleged press statement by its group urging the National Assembly not to only impeach president Muhammadu Buhari but also his vice, Yemi Osibanjo.
The group described fake press release as the handiwork of mischief makers, impostors, charlatans”.
Truthlive.net had reported that Ndigbo has in a viral press statement called on the National Assembly to include Osibanjo in it’s plan to impeach the president over increase in insecurity across the country.
The apex Igbo socio-cultural body made this known in a statement via its spokesperson, Alex Ogbonnia.
Part of the statement reads: “The attention of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide has been drawn to a bizarre and reckless publication currently circulating in the media indicating that Ohanaeze Ndigbo calls on “the National Assembly to include the Vice President of Nigeria, Prof Yemi Osinbajo, SAN in the impeachment threat on the President Muhammadu Buhari”.
It is the handiwork of “lose media navigators who leech on the invaluable footprints of Ohanaeze Ndigbo to issue press releases for narrow, perverse and illicit pecuniary interests,” the statement added.
