Okpebholo Congratulates APC National Woman Leader, Alile On Election, Tasks Her To Champion Cause Of Women

The Senator representing Edo Central Senatorial District at the National House of Assembly Senator Monday Okpebholo (aka) Akpakomiza, has congratulated the newly elected national woman leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr Mary Alile Idele just as he tasked her to use her position to champion the cause of the Nigeria women.

It will be recalled that, during the last meeting of the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) held on August 3rd, 2023, the National Working Committee (NWC), was empowered to fill the existing vacancies occasioned by resignations and the death of the national welfare officer of the party.

In furtherance of the power vested on the NWC of the party, Dr Mary Alile Idele from Edo State and others, were elected to fill the existing vacant positions in line with Article 13 of the APC Constitution.

Thus, in his congratulatory statement, Distinguished Senator Akpakomiza who represents Edo Central Senatorial District, Edo State, at National House of Assembly, said that by the election, Dr Mary Alile Idele has made history, becoming the first woman from APC in Edo State to hold the exalted party’s position since its formation.

In a statement signed by Godswill Inegbe, the media aid to Senator Monday Okpebholo, he appealed to Dr Mary Alile Idele to use the position to champion the cause of Nigerian women, especially the vulnerable ones in rural and urban communities in line with President Tinubu’s ‘renewed hope’ administration, which is hinged on people-centric policies and programmes.

“As the new national woman leader of Nigeria foremost political party, much will be expected from her.

“However, I have no doubt in my mind, that, Dr Mary Alile Idele, has the capacity, drive, dedication to duty, managerial skills and professionalism to rise to the responsibilities of her new position, as the national woman leader of the national ruling party of the most populated and diverse black nation on earth”, Okpebholo said.

The Distinguished Senate Committee Chair on Public Procurement, further capitalized on the occasion to once again applaud and commend, Distinguished Senator Adams Oshiomhole for his proactive and pragmatic leadership, which has continued to place Edo state positively at the front burner of our national politics and discourse.

In the same-vein, the Senator thanked President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, members of NEC, and members of NWC for the support given to Edo State to produce the party’s national woman leader.

Furthermore, the Senator congratulated the new party leaders at Zonal as well as the National Officers and members of the National Working Committee, and wished them a successful tenure.
