Sensitive materials for the upcoming Ondo State gubernatorial election have arrived at the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) in Akure. These materials, essential for the smooth conduct of the election on November 16, include ballot papers and result sheets.
Temitope Akanmu, spokesperson for the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Ondo State, confirmed the arrival of the materials and announced plans for distribution beginning Thursday.
“Party leaders will be invited to inspect the materials alongside INEC officials and security agents before they are distributed to local government areas,” Akanmu stated.
In a tweet on Monday, INEC announced that the materials had arrived at Akure Airport and were received by CBN officials, noting that the Nigeria Air Force had assisted in transporting the supplies.
The upcoming election is expected to draw significant public and political attention as Ondo residents head to the polls to elect their next governor.
