Hon Charles Idahosa The Audacious Odyssey — By Dr Peter Uwaibi Esq

Charles, my dear brother my indubitable friend, my brazen boisterous soulmate, it’s so unbelievably hurtful to rrite about the tedious but thrilling voyage that spanned your life.

Your sheer strength of determined, rugged heroism, is evidenced in your numerous accomplishments.
Your rectitude is hallowed in the shock and sadness the entire nation felt at the news of your unexpected, untimely passing.

Charles, you had compassionate concerns, bothered by a strong, unflinching, empathic desire, to commiserate with those tangled in penury, scarcity and lack, while providing largesse to those vulnerable, caught in the circles of destitutional pauperism.

Let me take you back to the fact of the matter, by divine providence we became zyzygotic. By this assorted combination, we began the journey of life, not knowing what the future or destiny held for us. We were young but dynamic, energetically vibrant, with undoubted resolve and unfettered belief in our determination to navigate the rough terrains of life successfully.

We were in 1st year of college, we were 12 years old.

You trained in some of the best educational institutions there were, you earned several degrees and qualifications and majored in journalism a phenomenal passion held from college days, when we made sure we read newspapers daily.

After graduation, you worked as a prolific journalist with the Nigerian Television Authority, a Corporation which in later years, you sat as a board member,
on the board of its directors.

Charles, you were understandably honoured by God, he Blessed you with several healthy years of satisfied sensations.
During your recent 70th Platinum birthday celebration bash in London Uk, you whispered in my ears, saying ‘Adabro Na wah o’ you mean, I have just attained the first one Biblical rarity age of 70? make we thank God for our lives, as we soldier on the part of Septuagenarianism.

We thank God profusely for your life well-lived.
God gifted and Blessed you with one of the most delightfully charming adorable wives, the marriage I was privileged to be Bestman.
Your darling wife bore you great children, with ‘pleasing to the heart’ pulchritudinous grandchildren.

You were bathed with several personal, communal and national honours, you’re a Justice of the Peace JP, an honour bestowed in recognition of your exceptional arbitrative services to the community.
You were also decorated amongst several other nonles with the colours of, Officer of the Order of the Federal Republic, OFR, in acknowledgement of your outstanding, national patriotism.

I recall vividly when you showed Shagasha and me the hand-penned recognition letter, from his excellency the late General Samuel Osagbovo Ogbemudia, adorning and ascribing the Benin sacred Leadership role to you, in acknowledgement of your motivating,
developmental contributions, to the people of the South South Senate district.

Your passionate drive to serve humanity, and to correct societal abnormalities, propelled your innate interest to venture into active politics.
Your exceptional strength of participation and loyalty, endeared you to the political echelon of the party, where in recognition of your magical expertise, was appointed a member of the Board of Trustees. BOT, PDP.

My brother, you are very assertive, bold and courageous, a socialite an enigmatic connector, a broken bridge builder.
You worked hard, played hard and ardently loved your family and friends with great intense.

Your indelible memory cuts through the lonely silence of my grieving heart like a razor.
Your demise remains a torturing surprise for me.

Ecclesiastes 8:8 Surely no man has power over the date and time of death.
The Bible reassures us in Revelation 1:18
That Jesus proclaimed in triumph, over death.
Let’s celebrate the life you lived.

Even in my unsteady imbalance of grief, I will enshrine, and hold tenaciously the unhesitant pertinacity that embalm our brotherly relationship.

We lived and trotted in truth and adorned convictions.
You were a flawless brazen breeze of fresh air.

You joked about everything You joked about anything, you told jokes, you ribbed ribs with jokes, we were always laughing we laughed a lot we found reasons to laugh always, this is one amongst the many factors that endeared you to friends, you had not a dull moment, by now Charles you’ll be cracking jokes with Angels on your Glorious match to Heaven.

Death has no power over man anymore.
Let all men rejoice!!
Jesus Christ has seized the keys to both death and hyde.
It is in principle, that everything that happens to man, is part of nature’s plan, therefore since death is a necessary end, will come when it will come.
We owe you more than just a gallery of applause.

Charles, you’re in the realm of the spirit of God now!
Earthly wahala don end
Rest in Peace.
