The Asue Ighodalo train is just bigger and bigger leading up to the Edo 2024 PDP primary.

High Chief Tom Ikimi, alongside Barr. Dr. Asue Ighodalo and key party leaders, toured the Edo Central Senatorial District from January 21 to 22, 2024. The tour aimed to connect with over ten thousand party members and 158 delegates set to be elected during the primary.

The Senatorial Chairman and State Vice Chairman of Edo Central and State PDP, Archbishop Anthony Okosun, emphasized the unanimous endorsement of Barr. Dr. Asue Ighodalo as the sole aspirant from the Senatorial District. This endorsement resonated across the five LGAs – Esan Central, Esan West, Esan South East, Esan North East, and Igueben.

Ighodalo’s message focused on a vision for Edo State as the leading sub-nation in Africa. He assured diverse representation in his government, promising a leadership that caters to the interests of all Edo people. His commitment to economic growth and job creation, particularly through revitalizing industries, garnered support from the Council Chairmen and party leaders.

Truth Live News can confirm that the tour featured notable personalities, including Sen. Elder Odion Ugbesia, Sen. Engr. Clifford Ordia, Rt. Hon. Chief Joe Edionwele, and Hon. Joe Okojie, all endorsing Ighodalo. The Edo Central Senatorial PDP delegation, led by Archbishop Anthony Okosun, included key figures such as Barr. L. Ogedegbe, Chief Benjamin Ehilenbojiaye, High Chief Barr. Paul Itua, and the five LGA PDP Chairmen.

The involvement of leaders from Edo North and Edo South showcased a united front in supporting Ighodalo’s candidacy. Prominent figures like former South-South PDP Zonal Chairman Rev. Mike Ikharebha, Rt. Hon. Levis Aigbogun, and Barr. Osahon Ahuwan expressed confidence in Ighodalo’s potential to bring about political and economic development.

Several party members, including those who stepped down for Ighodalo, such as Hon. John Yakubu, Rt. Hon. Friday Itulah, and Hon. Zuberious Eghonghon, joined the touring team. The tour, spanning key locations in the Edo Central Senatorial District, concluded in Igueben.

With the momentum gained from this tour, Barr. Asue Ighodalo and the team are set to embark on the next leg of their journey in the Edo South Senatorial District, further solidifying their campaign for the upcoming primary.
