Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola and his wife, Cristina Serra, have amicably separated after more than 30 years together, according to reports from Spanish media outlets.
Truth Live News gathered that the couple met in 1994 and married in 2014 near Barcelona. They have three children: Maria (24), Marius (22), and Valentina (17). Serra, a Brazilian journalist and fashion entrepreneur, has been residing in Barcelona with their youngest daughter, Valentina, while Guardiola remains in Manchester. The separation is described as cordial and friendly, with both parties maintaining a positive relationship.
In recent years, the couple had been living apart due to professional commitments. Serra left Manchester in 2019 to focus on her family’s fashion business, while Guardiola continued his managerial career in England. Despite the physical distance, they have been seen together during family occasions, including spending Christmas with their children.
Guardiola, who has been with Manchester City since 2016, recently extended his contract with the Premier League champions until 2027. Under his leadership, the team has secured multiple titles, including six Premier League championships and a UEFA Champions League victory in 2023.
This season, Manchester City has faced challenges on the pitch, currently standing sixth in the Premier League table. The team has experienced a series of defeats, with pundits speculating that Guardiola’s personal circumstances may have influenced the recent downturn in form. However, recent victories suggest a potential resurgence as they prepare for upcoming matches.
As Guardiola navigates this personal transition, he remains focused on Manchester City’s performance, with the club aiming to strengthen its squad during the January transfer window to address injuries and enhance their league campaign.
