Operatives of the Edo State Police Command has arrested nine suspected cultists for attempting to kill two persons in Ologbo Community in Ikpoba Okha Local Government Area of Edo State on June 15.
Truth Live News learnt that the suspects alleged to be cultists attacked one Oluwa Esimaje 39 and Osagie Festus 40 in Ologbo area of Benin and opened fire on them, injuring them in the process.
The Edo State Police Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Chidi Nwabuzor, confirmed the arrest of the suspects.
He said one Oluwa Esimaje 39 and Osagie Festus 40 reported at Ologbo police division to indicate that hoodlums suspected to be cultist opened fire on them at Ogunbaye quarters in Ologbo area of Edo state and in the process sustained injuries in their head and legs respectively.
He said the police mobilized to the scene, arrested one Osahon Omofuma 38 and eight others at the scene.
He said the Injured victims were taken to the hospital for treatment.
SP Nwabuzor said that full scale investigation has commenced on the reported case.
