The Kebbi State Police Command has confirmed the killing of two Customs officers and one local at Bachaka, a border community in Argungu Local Government Area of the state by suspected Lakurawa terrorists group.
The police image maker of the command, SP Nafiu Abubakar, who confirmed the incident, however said that the specific unit or formation of the slain Customs officers was yet to be determined.
“yes, there was an attack, which resulted in the killing of two yet-to-be-identified Customs officers and one native of Bachaka village,” he said.
It was learnt that the Kebbi State Commissioner of Police, CP Sani Bello, who visited the scene, reaffirmed the commitment of security forces to tackle the criminal elements tormenting the people of the area.
Sani, while addressing the villagers added that the attackers’ actions were a sign of their weakening state due to sustained security operations, neutralizing their leaders.
