The Ogun State Police Command has announced plans to conduct stop-and-search operations in vulnerable areas to enhance safety during the Easter celebrations.

The police command will work in close collaboration with other security agencies to maintain law and order for the benefit of all law-abiding citizens.

There will be increased police presence and patrols at strategic points such as Sagamu Interchange, Long Bridge, Ijebu Ode–Benin Highway, Sango Ota, Idiroko border towns, and Alapako.

Officers will also be stationed at financial institutions, places of worship, government facilities, tertiary institutions, and VIP protection zones.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Lanre Ogunlowo, urges residents, visitors, and fun-seekers to exercise moderation, prioritize personal safety, and report any suspicious activities promptly.

Citizens are encouraged to secure their homes and travel with caution during the Easter celebrations.

The police command made this announcement following the Federal Government’s declaration of Friday, April 18, and Monday, April 21, 2025, as public holidays to mark Good Friday and Easter Monday.
