APC Chair Yilwatda Welcomes Zamfara Governor Lawal at Grand Gusau Rally

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Prof. Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, on Tuesday formally welcomed the Governor of Zamfara State, Dauda Lawal Dare, into the ruling party during a high-profile rally held in Gusau.

The symbolic event, which drew a massive crowd of party loyalists, supporters, and political stakeholders, featured the official presentation of the APC insignia to the governor. In a dramatic moment that underscored the significance of the defection, Prof. Yilwatda handed over the party’s broom widely recognized as the emblem of unity and collective strength alongside the APC flag to Governor Lawal.

Addressing the gathering, the APC National Chairman described the governor’s entry into the party as a “strategic and progressive step” that would strengthen the party’s foothold in Zamfara and the North-West region at large. He praised Lawal’s leadership qualities and expressed confidence that his inclusion would further consolidate the APC’s vision of national development.

Governor Lawal, in his remarks, said his decision to join the APC was driven by the need to align Zamfara State with the centre for greater development opportunities. He assured party members and supporters of his commitment to good governance, unity, and the delivery of democratic dividends to the people.

The rally atmosphere was electrifying, with chants, music, and displays of party colours dominating the venue as supporters celebrated what many described as a “new political chapter” for Zamfara State.
