Fintiri Vows Massive 85% Adamawa Vote Block for Tinubu’s 2027 Re-election Bid

Adamawa State Governor Ahmadu Fintiri has boldly pledged to deliver at least 85 percent of the state’s votes to President Bola Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 general elections, following his recent high-profile defection from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The governor made the ambitious commitment during a courtesy visit to the National Chairman of the APC, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, on Wednesday. The meeting underscored Fintiri’s full integration into the ruling party after he, his cabinet, and a significant portion of the Adamawa PDP structure crossed over to the APC.

Fintiri framed his switch as a deliberate strategic move to bolster the APC nationally, foster unity, ensure stability, and advance development in Adamawa while aligning firmly behind President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

“I assure you that Adamawa State would deliver at least 85% of the votes for President Tinubu and the APC in the upcoming polls,” he declared.

The APC National Chairman welcomed the assurances, noting that such defections by prominent figures strengthen the party’s cohesion and position it advantageously for future electoral contests.

Fintiri’s pledge comes amid broader political realignments in Nigeria ahead of 2027, with the governor positioning Adamawa a key northern state as a stronghold for Tinubu’s anticipated re-election. The vow has sparked discussions on the feasibility of such a high vote share in a historically competitive region.
