A resignation letter purportedly written by Hon. Zainab Buba Galadima has stirred widespread reactions across social media, with many describing it as one of the most unusual political exits in recent times.
The letter, dated March 30, 2026, and addressed to party officials in Wuse Ward, Abuja, announces her resignation from the All Progressives Congress (APC). What has drawn particular attention, however, is its strikingly brief and blunt message: “I tried, I am tired; my conscience left the party, so I quit.”
The document, which identifies the sender as a former ward councillor in Abuja, quickly went viral after being shared on X (formerly Twitter), where users expressed a mix of amusement, admiration, and skepticism.
Some commentators praised the tone of the letter, calling it refreshingly honest in a political environment often marked by lengthy and diplomatic statements. Others questioned its authenticity, noting the lack of detailed explanation typically associated with high-profile political resignations.
The post gained further traction after being highlighted by social media influencer Esther Umoh, who described it as “the craziest resignation” she had seen. The phrase has since been widely repeated, fueling ongoing debate about the motivations behind the resignation.
As of now, there has been no official confirmation from the APC regarding the letter or the status of the individual named in the document. Party representatives have yet to issue a formal statement addressing the viral claims.
