“We Are Building a Credible Structure” — Soludo Revalidates APGA Membership

Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State has thrown his weight behind the electronic membership drive of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, formally revalidating his membership as the nationwide exercise gains momentum.

The governor completed the process on Monday alongside the First Lady, Nonye Soludo, becoming one of the early participants in the registration that commenced on March 1 across all 8,809 electoral wards in Nigeria and the Federal Capital Territory, Truth live news international reports.

Announcing his participation, Soludo said the move aligns with statutory requirements and reflects the party’s commitment to institutional reform.

“I am proud to announce that APGA has officially recommenced its membership registration and revalidation exercise in line with the Electoral Act,” he stated.

Describing the initiative as more than a routine update of records, the governor emphasised the structural implications of the digital shift.

“This digital transformation is a game changer, setting APGA apart as a pioneer in Nigerian politics. We are not just updating our records, we are building a robust and credible party structure,” he said.

Soludo further highlighted the integration of the National Identification Number into the process as a safeguard for transparency.

“With NIN integration, as stipulated by the new Electoral Act, we are ensuring the integrity of our membership database,” he added.

Calling on party faithful and prospective members to participate, he assured that the process has been simplified for accessibility.

“The registration and revalidation process is seamless, and we have simplified it so much that no one will be left behind,” he noted.

Earlier, the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Ejimofor Opara, detailed the scope of the exercise during a briefing in Awka.

“The All Progressives Grand Alliance is proud to announce the commencement of our Continuous Electronic Membership Registration Exercise. This nationwide initiative began on March 1, 2026, and is taking place simultaneously across all 8,809 electoral wards in Nigeria,” Opara said.

He explained that existing members are required to validate their status, while new registrants must be at least 18 years old and possess a valid NIN. The party is targeting more than two million new and revalidated members through the ongoing drive.

The electronic registration marks a significant administrative shift for APGA as it moves to modernise its internal framework ahead of future political engagements.
