President Bola Tinubu has appointed three new Deputy Comptroller-Generals (DCGs) and three new Assistant Comptroller-Generals (ACGs) for the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS).

The appointments were made to fill the vacancies created by the promotion of DCG Bashir Adewale Adeniyi to Acting Comptroller General of Customs, effective June 19, 2023 and the retirement of some management staff, who were at the same rank as Adeniyi, in accordance with military and paramilitary tradition.

These appointments are expected to help streamline operations and strengthen efficiency in the NCS.

Confirming the appointments, the Customs spokesman, Abdullahi Maiwada, listed Festus Okun, Musa Baba Abdullahi, and Albashir Hamisu as DCGs, and Kamardeen Olumoh, Auwal Baba Mohammed, and Adeogun Alajogun as ACGs.

He thanked the retired management members for their service, and congratulated the newly appointed officers on their success.

He further urged them to work harder to ensure that the service achieves its objectives of generating revenue, suppressing smuggling, and facilitating trade.
